Aleister Black has not been seen on WWE TV since losing to Damien Priest in an ambulance match on January 2.
According to PWInsider, that’s by design.
The Dutchman’s absence is part of a planned hiatus to sell the ambulance match. Some believe he was a bit banged up after the match but not hurt to the point that he couldn’t appear on television if needed.
Thus far, Black has not performed on the European tour.
The 40-year-old returned to WWE last year after a four-year sabbatical in AEW and has yet to ascend to the top of the card.
He has aligned with his real-life wife Zelina Vega on-screen and their first serious fued came against Priest.
They also lost a tag team match against Priest and Rhea Ripley at the back end of last year.
Black was a favourite of Triple H’s during his time in NXT. He has the entrance and the in-ring work to be a top talent, perhaps some dots just need to be connected elsewhere with his character.
Vega could be the one to do that.
