Could a Survivor Run be in Dream Girl Ellie’s Future?

Dream Girl Ellie, a professional wrestler featured in the Netflix docuseries “Wrestlers,” has expressed interest in competing in the popular reality TV show Survivor. In a recent interview with WrestleZone’s Ella Jay, Ellie discussed her potential strategy and strengths if she were to participate in the show.

A Strategic Threat

Ellie believes she would excel in the strategic aspects of Survivor, citing her ability to “gaslight” her opponents and create conflict among them. “I think from a strategical standpoint, I can gaslight these people well enough to be like, ‘Yo, this person said this about you. This person said this about you,'” she said. “Then when they come up to each other and be like, ‘Hey, I never said this.’ Be like, ‘Yes, you did. You literally told me,’ blah, blah, blah, and gaslight them into thinking that they actually said this and then make everyone else butt heads strategically.”

Ellie clarified that this approach would be a departure from her real-life personality, which she described as non-toxic. “Not that I’m toxic [in real life], by the way, because that sounded like I was super toxic,” she said, laughing. “Yeah, that’s [my alter ego]. I never said any of that.”

A Familiarity with the Show

Survivor was a staple in Ellie’s household growing up, with her family regularly watching the show on Wednesday nights. She also mentioned that they would have viewing parties for The Biggest Loser on Tuesday nights. Currently, Survivor is airing its 49th season on CBS, with fellow pro wrestlers John Morrison and Ashley Massaro having competed in seasons 37 and 15, respectively.

Ellie expressed confidence in her ability to solve puzzles, but was less sure about the athletic challenges. “I think I’ll be good at the puzzle part. The athletic part, maybe,” she said. “I don’t like running. I got bad knees, so we’ll see. But yeah, I think the strategic part I’d be good at.”

Emerging Star Londyn Dior Praises Athena as an Amazing Coach

Londyn Dior is eager to learn more from Athena, and it’s easy to see why. As one of the rising stars in the wrestling world, Dior has had the opportunity to work with Athena, the woman behind the launch of Metroplex Wrestling’s all-women’s series, Who Runs The World.

This year, Metroplex Wrestling launched a new all-women’s wrestling series, titled Who Runs The World, with its inaugural show taking place in August. Last weekend, the series continued with Who Runs The World 2 from the MPX Event Center in Bedford, Texas. WrestleZone’s Ella Jay recently caught up with Londyn Dior, one of the rising stars involved in both events, for her perspective on working with Athena.

Londyn Dior’s Experience with Athena

According to Dior, Athena’s guidance has been invaluable. “I’ve been training with her since October of 2024, so learning under her has just been amazing,” Dior said. “It’s Athena and her husband Matthew Palmer. They’re amazing coaches. I learned so much from her.” Athena, who is also the current Ring of Honor Women’s Championship, is helping to run Metroplex, which she currently co-owns.

Dior also appreciates the fact that Athena (alongside Matthew Palmer) is helping to teach her and other young talents how to improve their television presence. “[The important thing I’ve gathered is] just learning more about how to work for TV and how to be grand and larger than life in the ring,” Dior said. “You know what I mean? So I feel like that’s definitely big things that I’ve learned from them. So many little nuances [when working to the camera]. And it’s the littlest things that will have you like ‘Ah!’”

Londyn Dior’s Recent Matches and Inspirations

At Who Runs The World 2, Dior battled Maya World and AEW Women’s Champion Kris Statlander in a three-way match. When asked about other women who have empowered her on a personal and professional level, Dior pointed to a pair of decorated champions, Bianca Belair and Mercedes Mone. “I’d definitely say like Bianca Belair, she’s up there as one of my biggest inspirations. I relate to her so, so much. I feel like when I look at her, it’s like I see myself, just the same in all aspects. I just look up to her a lot, Mercedes [Mone] a lot. Athena, she is amazing. Her mind is amazing. It’s a lot of women. I have a long list of women that I just admire.”

Ryan Bader’s Acting Debut in The Smashing Machine

Ryan Bader, a renowned mixed martial arts star, has made his acting debut in the film The Smashing Machine, where he plays the role of UFC legend Mark Coleman. The film, which is based on a 2022 documentary, profiles a turbulent period in Mark Kerr’s life and features a star-studded cast, including The Rock and Emily Blunt. Bader spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard ahead of the film’s nationwide opening, sharing his experience of working with The Rock and the pressure he felt on set.

Bader praised The Rock’s professionalism and the relationship they built on set, saying that The Rock’s presence helped alleviate some of the pressure he felt as a newcomer to acting. He observed The Rock’s process, watching how he prepared for scenes and how he interacted with the other actors. Bader also appreciated The Rock’s willingness to play off each other and help him when he slipped up. The two actors had a good working relationship, which made the filming experience more enjoyable for Bader.

Ryan Bader on Re-Learning to Fight on Film

The Smashing Machine is a raw and gritty film that portrays the good and the bad of Mark Kerr’s life. The film’s director, Benny Safdie, opted for a cinéma vérité style, shooting the fight scenes without cuts. Bader, who has a background in MMA, had to relearn how to fight on film, lightening up on some fight sequences to make them look real. He worked with a stunt coordinator for two weeks before filming, practicing and perfecting his techniques.

Bader also worked with other fighters who played Coleman’s opponents in the movie, making a pact to make the fight scenes look as real as possible. He gave some of the punches on the ground a bit more power to make them look authentic. The experience was a unique challenge for Bader, who had to balance his MMA background with the need to make the fight scenes look realistic on film.

What Ryan Bader Hopes Viewers Take Away from The Smashing Machine

Bader hopes that viewers take away a message of inspiration from the film, particularly for those who are struggling with addiction or tough relationships. He notes that Mark Kerr’s story is a testament to the possibility of overcoming adversity and finding light at the end of the tunnel. The film is not just another sports movie, but a raw and gritty portrayal of a true story. Bader hopes that the MMA community is proud of the movie and that it serves as a reminder of the evolution of the sport.

Mark Kerr, who is featured in the film and has participated in its marketing, deserves the spotlight, according to Bader. Kerr’s story is one of redemption and hope, and Bader hopes that viewers are inspired by his journey. The Smashing Machine is a film that will resonate with audiences, and Bader is proud to have been a part of it.

Chris Jericho’s Trademark Filing Update: What Does it Mean for His Future in AEW?

Renowned professional wrestler Chris Jericho is known for his savvy business approach, particularly when it comes to trademark filings. He has a reputation for filing more trademarks than any other wrestler, leveraging his catchphrases and nicknames to maximize his brand’s potential. However, it has come to light that one of his recent trademark filings, “The Jericho Vortex,” has been ruled dead and abandoned. This update has sparked speculation about Jericho’s potential departure from All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and a possible return to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

Understanding the Trademark Filing Process

The trademark filing for “The Jericho Vortex” was initially made in April 2024, but according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the application was abandoned due to the lack of a Statement of Use (SOU) or a Request for Extension of Time to File a Statement of Use within the required six-month timeframe following the Notice of Allowance (NOA) issue date. This is not an uncommon occurrence, as many of Jericho’s trademark filings end up being abandoned before they are finalized. If Jericho wishes to revive the trademark application, he must file the necessary documents within the next two months.

Implications for Jericho’s Future in AEW

This development comes amidst speculation about Jericho’s future in AEW, as he has been absent from AEW television since April 2025. With his AEW contract reportedly set to expire at the end of 2025, rumors have been circulating about a potential departure from the company. AEW CEO Tony Khan has expressed his desire to keep Jericho as part of the AEW family, stating that he is “always a welcome, big part of AEW.” However, in a recent interview with The Daily Mail, Jericho himself hinted at the possibility of a WWE return, stating that he “wouldn’t be opposed to” it. Many insiders believe that a return to WWE is a likely scenario for Jericho.

Conclusion

While the abandonment of the “Jericho Vortex” trademark filing may not be directly related to Jericho’s future in AEW or WWE, it has certainly added fuel to the speculation surrounding his career. As the professional wrestling world waits with bated breath for Jericho’s next move, one thing is certain – his legacy as a shrewd businessman and charismatic performer will continue to endure.

Introduction to Dream Girl Ellie: A Rising Star in the World of Pro Wrestling

Dream Girl Ellie is a proud member of the Dark Arts, a prestigious invitation-only training gym founded by WWE’s Aleister Black and Zelina Vega. As a decorated champion on the indies, Ellie is dedicated to honing her craft and continuously learning from the best in the business. With her coaches boasting extensive experience in the ring and in life, Ellie is well on her way to becoming a top-notch pro wrestler.

Training with Aleister Black and Zelina Vega: A Unique Approach to Pro Wrestling

During a recent interview with WrestleZone’s Ella Jay, Ellie opened up about her experience training at The Dark Arts. According to Ellie, Aleister Black’s approach to coaching is not only focused on improving his students’ athletic abilities but also on helping them become better individuals. Black’s philosophy emphasizes the importance of confidence, self-improvement, and personal growth, both in and out of the ring. As Ellie explained, “It’s actually really funny because with Aleister, he’s helping everyone come out of their shell in a confident way… He’s like, ‘I’m not just making you a better athlete, I’m making you a better person.'” This unique approach has had a profound impact on Ellie, who has adopted Black’s values and incorporated them into her daily life.

The Value of Little Things: How Aleister Black’s Coaching Has Shaped Ellie’s Perspective

Ellie shared a specific example of how Black’s coaching has influenced her behavior, citing the importance of small actions like wiping down equipment at the gym. “There’s little things… There’s a gym in the school, and we always wipe down our equipment. And it’s one of those things where he’s like, ‘If you’re doing it here when you go to the gym, you’re going to do it there no matter what.'” This attention to detail has become second nature to Ellie, who now finds herself picking up trash or cleaning up after others without even thinking about it. This mindset shift is a testament to Black’s effective coaching and Ellie’s willingness to learn and grow.

Ellie’s Focus on Psychology and Character Development

As a long-time fan of pro wrestling, Ellie is grateful for the opportunity to train with Black and Vega. She is particularly interested in developing her in-ring psychology and character work, recognizing the importance of these aspects in creating a compelling and believable performance. “From a fan standpoint sometimes I’m like, ‘Wow, I actually know these people.’ Then like I see them on TV and I was like, ‘Oh my god.'” Ellie’s admiration for her coaches is evident, and she values the chance to learn from them and hone her skills in a supportive and experienced environment.

A Unique Chemistry: Ellie’s Partnership with Zelina Vega

Ellie has developed a strong chemistry with Zelina Vega, both in and out of the ring. She praises Vega’s character work, noting that she is “such a great, I don’t want to say character because she’s herself, but she’s such a great character.” This genuine appreciation for Vega’s talent and personality has fostered a strong partnership between the two women, allowing them to work seamlessly together and create engaging performances.

Introduction to Bishop Dyer: A New Chapter in Pro Wrestling

Bishop Dyer, the new persona of Tom Pestock, is making waves in the pro wrestling world. Although Dyer is new to the scene, Tom Pestock is not, having spent nearly 13 years in WWE as Baron Corbin. The transition to a new identity marks a significant shift in Pestock’s career, as he forges a new path outside of WWE.

Adjusting to a New Persona

In a recent interview with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard, Bishop Dyer discussed his experience adjusting to his new persona. Dyer mentioned that it’s an adjustment for everyone, including fans and peers, who still refer to him as Baron Corbin. He recalled a recent match in Mexico where the crowd chanted “Baron Corbin,” and he had to adapt to the new name. Dyer explained that he tried to keep the Baron Corbin name initially, but WWE declined, leading him to create a new identity.

Evolution and Growth

Dyer views his departure from WWE as a reset, allowing him to evolve and grow as a wrestler. He acknowledged that it’s a process to get used to the new name, and he sometimes accidentally signs autographs as “Baron Corbin.” Dyer trained at Nattie’s gym, where he met with fellow wrestlers Jamie Noble, Apollo Crews, and Angelo Dawkins, who still refer to him as Corbin. This experience highlights the challenges of transitioning to a new persona, especially after 13 years of being known as Baron Corbin.

Facing Satoshi Kojima and Embracing Japanese Wrestling Style

Bishop Dyer is set to face Japanese legend Satoshi Kojima at MLW Slaughterhouse. Dyer expressed his excitement about competing against Kojima, citing his admiration for Japanese wrestling style. He reached out to Finn Balor for feedback on facing Kojima, who praised Kojima’s skills and intensity. Dyer is eager to adapt his skills to the Japanese style, which he believes will be an incredible experience. He also mentioned that he texted CM Punk about the upcoming match, and Punk expressed interest in attending the event.

Training and Preparation

To prepare for his match against Kojima, Dyer has been training with Natalya and TJ Wilson at their Dungeon wrestling school. He believes that this training will give him the best chance to compete with Kojima and other Luchadors like Mascara Dorada. Dyer’s goal is to advance in the tournament and put Kojima down, which would be a significant achievement in his new career.

Conclusion and Upcoming Event

MLW Slaughterhouse takes place on Saturday, October 4, at Thunder Studios Arena in Long Beach, California, and will air live on MLW’s YouTube channel. Bishop Dyer’s match against Satoshi Kojima promises to be an exciting encounter, as he continues to make a name for himself in the pro wrestling world.

AEW Stars Ortiz and Santana’s Feud: A Look into the Real-Life Issues

The professional wrestling world is no stranger to intense rivalries, but the feud between former partners Ortiz and Santana has been particularly notable. Their match on AEW Rampage was marked by a level of brutality that sparked curiosity among fans. In a recent interview on the Wombreezy podcast, Ortiz shed light on the real-life issues that fueled the intense physicality in the ring.

Unresolved Feelings and Legitimate Tension

Ortiz was candid about the issues between him and his former partner, stating, “Yeah. I mean, there’s obviously issues that’s no secret between us, and we kind of just left it out in the ring.” He confirmed that the stiff shots in the match were not just for show, revealing that “some of those hits were potatoes, for sure. I even rocked my eardrum.” This level of physicality is a testament to the real-life tension between the two wrestlers.

Working Through Animosity

Ortiz explained that the aggressive style was a result of unresolved feelings, saying, “That was just us still working, just working really snug with each other, just because, you know, there’s some saltiness there.” The match served as a form of catharsis for the two wrestlers to deal with their animosity in their own way. As Ortiz put it, “That was just us working out our shit in the wrestling world.”

Context and Catharsis

While internet fans were aware of the drama, Ortiz noted that the context may not have been fully understood by the live crowd. He stated, “I don’t think it was explained well on television, so some of the live crowd may not have understood the full context.” Despite this, the match provided a platform for Ortiz and Santana to work through their issues in a unique and intense way.

Londyn Dior’s Journey to Becoming “The Diamond Princess”

Londyn Dior, currently dominating the independent wrestling scene, has come a long way since her early days as an 8-year-old wrestling enthusiast. Her passion for wrestling was sparked by a iconic WWE WrestleMania match between The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 25 in 2009. This match not only left a lasting impression on Dior but also inspired her to pursue a career in wrestling.

In an interview with WrestleZone’s Ella Jay, Dior reflected on how this match influenced her decision to become a wrestler. She noted that the buildup to the match and the in-ring action were particularly captivating, making her heavily invested in the outcome. Dior recalled being devastated when Shawn Michaels lost to The Undertaker, which further solidified her desire to become a wrestler. She stated, “That match just moved me. It was just fantastic all around. And after that match, I literally was like, ‘I want to do this. I want to do this.'”

Dior’s Emotional Connection to Wrestling

The following year, Undertaker and Michaels met again at WrestleMania, with Michaels’ career on the line. The outcome was similar, with Undertaker emerging victorious, leaving Dior and other young fans in an emotional state. Dior remembered being in tears when Michaels retired, saying, “I cried when [Michaels] retired. Was in shambles, I went to school sad. I was like, ‘No, this can’t be,’ and I did not want to watch Raw.” This emotional connection to wrestling is a testament to the impact that the sport can have on its fans.

Dior’s Admiration for the “Bad Guys”

As Dior continued to follow wrestling, she found herself drawn to the heels, including Melina Perez and Michelle McCool. She admired their confidence and charisma, stating, “I always just loved the bad guys growing up. [Melina] coming out with the paparazzi, her fur, and her gear just she just screams superstar. I just fell in love with her. Her and Mickie [James], I wanted to be them.” Dior’s admiration for these wrestlers is a reflection of her appreciation for the entertainment aspect of wrestling.

Dior also praised Michelle McCool, saying, “I feel like it’s between her and Michelle McCool [when it comes to the best heels]. They are like tied. No one did mean girls better than them.” This praise highlights Dior’s understanding of the importance of character development in wrestling.

TNA President Carlos Silva Provides Update on TV Deal Negotiations

TNA President Carlos Silva has expressed optimism about the company’s progress in securing a new TV deal, stating that they are “getting ready to score” with a potential partner. In a recent interview with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard, Silva provided an update on the negotiations, using an American football analogy to describe their current position.

Silva previously mentioned that TNA was actively seeking a new rights partner, with the goal of having everything lined up by the fall of 2025, near the time of Bound For Glory. When asked to elaborate on the current status, Silva explained that the company has made significant progress, moving from being “in the parking lot” to being “in the stadium” and engaged with a potential partner.

TNA’s Progress Towards a TV Deal

“I would say that the game has definitely started,” Silva said. “When I was talking about it before, we were maybe in the parking lot, trying to figure out how to get into the stadium. The good news is we’re in the stadium. The game has started, and we are probably on the 30-yard line, getting ready to score.” Silva’s comments suggest that TNA is closer to securing a TV deal, with the company now working through the final details with a potential partner.

Silva’s optimism is shared by Santino Marella, who believes that a new TV deal would put TNA Wrestling in a strong position to become the number two wrestling company. Marella noted that while Tony Khan has significant financial resources, he thinks that “number two is attainable” for TNA with a TV deal in place.

Expert Insights and Analysis

Industry experts and analysts will be watching TNA’s progress closely, as a new TV deal could have significant implications for the professional wrestling landscape. With the company’s Bound For Glory event approaching, fans are eagerly awaiting news on the TV deal front. As Silva noted, the company is working diligently to finalize the details, with the goal of making an announcement soon.

AEW Wrestler Ortiz Opens Up About Contract Status, New Coaching Role, and Future Goals

Ortiz, a talented wrestler with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) since 2019, has been relatively less visible on television lately. In a recent interview on the Wombreezy podcast, Ortiz shared his current contract status, a new backstage role, and his aspirations for the future. As a wrestler with a passion for tag team wrestling, Ortiz is eager to make a lasting impact in the AEW universe.

Contract Status and Future Plans

When asked about his remaining time with AEW, Ortiz provided a candid response. “As of right now, I have about a year left with the company. Give or take,” he stated. This transparency offers a glimpse into Ortiz’s current situation, and his desire to stay with AEW is evident. “I mean, I would love to stay there. I love working at AEW,” he expressed, highlighting his affection for the company and his role within it.

New Coaching Role and Personal Growth

Ortiz has taken on a new backstage responsibility, which involves coaching and producing. This role not only allows him to contribute to the development of other wrestlers but also enhances his own skills. “I’ve actually been coaching, doing, producing, basically,” he shared. “And it’s also selfishly making me a better wrestler, because now I’m helping people call matches, and I’m analyzing it from a different lens.” This experience has been beneficial for Ortiz, as it provides him with a unique perspective and opportunities for growth.

Goals and Aspirations

Ortiz’s primary objective is to re-establish himself with the AEW audience and change their perception of him as a wrestler. “Change the perception that I have in AEW, is my biggest short-term goal once I get the opportunity to get back on television and wrestle,” he said. He aims to be taken seriously as a wrestler, rather than being viewed as just a “thug.” This desire for recognition and respect is a driving force behind his efforts to succeed in the AEW universe.

Pursuing Championship Gold

Ortiz still has his sights set on winning championship gold, with a particular interest in tag team gold. “Um, definitely win gold, some sort of gold,” he said. “I would love for it to be tag team gold. Again, I love tag team wrestling. Hopefully, it’ll be with Eddie, or whoever it is.” This ambition demonstrates Ortiz’s commitment to his craft and his desire to achieve excellence in the world of professional wrestling.
