Cody Rhodes insists he’s very lucky with the WrestleMania opponents he has faced.

Since returning to WWE, the American Nightmare has faced Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns twice, John Cena and will not defend the WWE World Heavyweight title against Randy Orton.

That’s a legendary line-up for the company’s top babyface.

In an interview with Complex, Rhodes addressed his run of rivals and how fortunate he is to wrestle Orton on the grandest stage.

“The idea that I got to wrestle John in his final WrestleMania and now I’m wrestling Randy in the same stadium?

“I’m really lucky, right? I’m very lucky because I don’t know how much longer Randy does it.”

Orton and Rhodes formed two-thirds of Legacy back in 2008 with Ted DiBiase Jr the third piece.

Orton snapped after the contract was signed

Rhodes and DiBiase Jr acted as support for Orton during his peak years as a hell, the kind of character The Viper reverted to on Friday when he attacked Rhodes during the contract signing.

Orton, who debuted way back in 2002, is now rapidly approaching 46 years of age and has legendary status in the industry.

Rhodes has gone from bit-part player in WWE and Orton’s support network to top babyface in the company.

“One of the craziest things about Randy and my relationship was the dynamic shifted.

“The area where he never was in trouble, and no issue at all was how great of a teacher about wrestling he was.”

Orton may have taught Rhodes a lot, but he needs to run through the current champion to start his 15th reign.

WrestleMania 42 starts on April 19 in Las Vegas.
