Triple H has made sure everyone knows this is his era in charge of WWE and for many generations, he is the first man in power they’ve known not named Vince McMahon.

Sure, Triple H isn’t in total power like Vince once was. TKO under Endevour own the actual company, it’s no longer a family business. Names like Ari Emmanuel and Nick Khan superseded The Game.

Technically, even The Rock carries more weight in the company that Triple H does just sitting on the board.

Triple H is the head of WWE creative

But still, Triple H certainly is the head of creative content and thus, wields great power as to what we see each week on TV.

His close friend and possibly the greatest in-ring talent ever, Shawn Michaels, is down in NXT running the show, so who is going to be the legend’s right-hand man running the main roster?

McMahon had Jim Ross and Bruce Prichard for the majority of his reign – the latter of whom is still there now – but Triple H has had his fingerprints on a whole new era of talent.

Ridge Holland, real name Luke Menzies was just released by WWE but the Brit saw enough during his time with the company to believe Pete Dunne will eventually become a close peer of The King of Kings.

In fact, Dunne already does a lot of producer work backstage.

“Pete is probably one of if not the best minds I’ve ever come across when it comes to wrestling,” Holland told Cultaholic’s Tom Campbell. “How he puts matches together, how he structures things, just his whole outlook on wrestling in general, I think he’s one of the best.

“I just wish that people would listen to him more. I wish he’d have more impact and I think that will come with his backstage role, I think when people start to realise this kid really knows what he’s talking about.

“I think he will end up being Triple H’s right hand man, and I think Hunter sees him that way. He’s going to end up doing big things behind the scenes.

Triple H positioned Dunne as the leader of NXT UK
Dunne was the first-ever NXT UK champion

“If he doesn’t do big things on-screen, behind the scenes I think you’ll see a lot more things that Peter’s had his fingers on.”

Dunne has been very involved with the production of WWE matches dating back to his time as the poster boy in NXT UK. He has carried that over to NXT in the States and it’s well known how highly Michaels and Triple H regard the Birmingham-born star.

The joint-manipulator is still only 32-years-old and has plenty of gas left inside the tank in the ring, but it’s been clear for a long time now where he sees himself once he hangs his boots up.
