AJ Styles learned last week on RAW that he will be heading into the WWE Hall of Fame this year, but it seems WWE would like John Cena to induct him.
Cena, who only retired himself two months before Styles – but both of them at the hands of Gunther – shared a classic rivalry with Cena in WWE.
Per BodySlam.net, WWE is hoping to get Styles but there’s no indication from the report that Cena has agreed to do it.
Assuming he does not have any Hollywood commitments around the time, it’s hard to imagine he wouldn’t do the favour for one of his greatest rivals.
The pair had so many classic moments, but perhaps their match at Royal Rumble in 2017 will go down as the very best of their work.
Cena recently signed on for a new Netflix movie titled One Attempt Remaining with Jennifer Garner and Kate McKinnon, though it’s unclear when production will start on the project and if that’s a conflict.

After Styles lost to Gunther at the Royal Rumble, Cena posted a message congratulating the Phenomenal One on a terrific career.
Styles and Stephanie McMahon are the first two inductees in this year’s Hall of Fame ceremony. WWE has not announced an official date for the event, though last year’s ceremony took place the night before WrestleMania 41.
The Undertaker also revealed earlier today that the iconic tag team – Demolition – are also heading into the Hall of Fame.
WWE has now announce that the ceremony will take place on Friday, April 17 at 9pm PT at Dolby Live at Park MGM.
Doors will open for SmackDown at the T-Mobile Arena, also in Las Vegas, at 4:30pm giving plenty of time for fans who want to do both.
