Bayley hasn’t had the best of luck when it comes to WrestleMania.

One-quarter of the four horsewomen wasn’t even on WrestleMania 37 perhaps at the apex of her popularity. Instead she was given a hosting gig that led to her being beatdown by the Bellas.

Elsewhere, shes’s been involved in a couple of multi-women world title matches, the women’s battle royal, a multi-team tag team title match and finally, a six-woman tag match against legends like Trish Stratus and Lita.

Bayley was taken out and not even on TV

The only real singles showdown she’s managed – and it’s criminal she didn’t face Sasha Banks at WrestleMania – was against IYO SKY after winning the Royal Rumble in 2024.

Heading towards WrestleMania 41 earlier this year, Bayley was set to tag with Lyra Valkyria and challenge for the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles.

Just a day before the event, Bayley was ‘attacked’ backstage and ruled out of the event. In reality, creative decided to take Bayley out so they could insert Becky Lynch.

Speaking on The Undertaker’s podcast, Bayley opened up on the disappointment for the first time.

Bayley is a five-time world champion

“The day they took me out [of Wrestlemania]? It was the day before,” Bayley started. “It’s a test. I feel like every time I get thrown stuff, it’s like I’m just being tested. Not by the company, by the universe and the world it trying to test me. It was rough. It was a little bittersweet.”

“When I was told what was happening, I was like, ‘Oh, now I’m bummed.’ For one, I’m not at WrestleMania.

“For two, we put all this work in and I really tried to make us look like a team. It was rough, but it becoming part of a storyline and it becoming what it is now made it a little bit nicer. It’s definitely one of those times.

Lyra Valkyria and Bayley are teaming once again

“I had a long conversation with [CM] Punk about it. A lot of people that were reaching out were like, ‘Everyone’s been in these positions.’ But yeah… I don’t know.”

Ironically, Bayley is back teaming with Valkyria now and are in the tag title picture along with Nia Jax and Lash Legend, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair, The Judgement Day and the champions the Kabuki Warriors.

The 36-year-old is still a prominent member of the roster, but not many fans would argue she has deserved better on the Grandest Stage – particularly during and coming out of COVID.
