The 51-year-old went down after a match with Austin Theory on RAW.

Speaking to Adrian Hernandez, Mysterio provided an update on his health.

“Much better than when it actually happened.

“So, that injury occurred on January 27th, which was the Monday leading into the Rumble. It was fractured ribs — both left and right.

“Those take a little bit of time to heal, but on the way up.”

Mysterio does not have a clear path to WrestleMania right now and with just over one month until the 42nd iteration takes place, time is running out.

Many WWE fans had expected the luchador legend to face Gunther in a retirement match in Las Vegas.

Gunther has been fueding with Mysterio’s protegé, Dragon Lee, and it seemed natural that Mysterio might return to try and save him.

Gunther, who has retired Goldberg, John Cena and AJ Styles in the past year, would make for a logical opponent, but his path seems unclear as well.

The other option for Rey, and one that has been widely discussed for a long time, would have his son Dominik retire him.

Dirty Dom has spoken in interviews about his desire to retire his father and take his mask, but he is now set to face Finn Balor at WrestleMania 42 after the Irishman was ousted from the Judgement Day.

Tiffany Stratton opens the show with a babyface promo talking about winning the world title back. Nia Jax and Lash Legend interupt with a series of threats. That brings out IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley (big pop as usual) and a tag match is made.

Apollo Crews appears again and actually has lines this time. He tells Carmelo Hayes he fancies a US title shot at some point, as does Matt Cardona. Hayes tells them the invitational is closed tonight as he owes Ilja Dragunov.

Alesiter Black has a backstage vignette alongside his wife Zelina Vega. Black sends a message to Randy Orton, Vega talks up the triple threat with Alexa Bliss and Giulia.

Carmelo Hayes he is going to attempt to qualify for the Elimination Chamber next week.

IYO SKY and Giulia have a brief tease backstage before Jade Cargill walks by and has a tease with SKY herself. Rhea Ripley just stood by for both.

Liv Morgan, Dirty Dom and Raquel Rodriguez watched the women’s title match from ringside in the form of a Valentines Day date.

Johnny Gargano is still depressed.

Drew McIntyre got involved in he main event to destroy Jacob Fatu and Cody Rhodes. After a Claymore, he put Sami Zayn on for the pin, but Rhodes kicked out. Zayn then Helluva kicked McIntyre and, of course, Rhodes nailed the CrossRhodes for the win.

Analysis:

Nia Jax’s climb to the top rope was perhaps the slowest thing to ever happen anywhere. Great chaos in the women’s opening tag though; tables smashed and barricades broken.

Tiffany Stratton appeared in a few segments tonight. Makes you think WWE are considering having her compete for the title at WrestleMania, especially because it’s quite hard to see what she’d do otherwise. At least the other women are in the tag picture.

When are WWE going to put Rey Fenix and Penta together? With The Usos needing dance partners at WrestleMania, that could be magic.

Cody Rhodes kicking out of McIntyre’s Claymore kick after a taxing half-an-hour triple threat main event… It stunk a little bit like Super Cena it has to be said. A true babyface win, yes. But I have to wonder if down the road we are getting a heel Cody Rhodes. McIntyre still maintains he did not attack Fatu and unless someone else enters the equation, Rhodes may well emerge down the road.

Notes:

Paul Heyman and The Vision, complete with Austin Theory, opened the show with a promo. Heyman officially welcomed the 28-year-old into the group saying “earn your keep, young man” before passing the mic.

Theory says he has waited his entire life and worked his entire career for this moment. He then delcares Bron Breakker will be the next world champion which, of course, brings out CM Punk.

The world champion asks Breakker to get his boys out of the ring so they can talk face-to-face. Breakker proceeds to absolutely shred on the microphone once again. Super intense, incredibly well delivered. Punk did respond with his trademark passion, but one might argue Breakker won that round…

More teased tension backstage between the women of The Judgement Day (where they note Dirty Dom is currently injured) as Liv Morgan tells Raquel Rodriguez she needs to bring the women’s title back to the stable.

Vaquer retained after stealing a pin on Bella after Rodriguez had nailed a Tejana Bomb.

R-Truth confronts Gunther backstage over his antics since beating John Cena. Seems a match in the making.

The Kabuki Warriors hit the ring for a promo. Asuka gloated about beating Rhea Ripley last week. Of course Ripley and IYO SKY arrive to throw hands. Although SKY’S back is still in trouble, the babyfaces stand tall.

Punk offers his servies to Mysterio who faces Austin Theory later. The legednary luchador politely declines implying he already has a trick up his sleeve.

Finn Balor cut an excellent promo during the advert break on Netflix. Not sure how many people saw it but I hope they did! A great reminder of exactly who he is and what he should be doing in WWE.

New music for Austin Theory. Not bad… I’ve heard worse.

Logan Paul got Theory DQ’d versus Mysterio and as the pair beat down the high-flyer, Penta made his return from injury to help Mysterio stand tall.

Maxxine Dupri arrives to cut a promo. Becky Lynch arrives to talk trash and Dupri threatens to break her ankle. Plenty of new attitude and confidence. Lynch can’t bring herself to say the word ‘credit’ when she says she wants to give it to Dupri. The IC champ says she stole the spotlight from Lynch.

Dupri also says Sports Illustrated might even say it… Lynch snaps. Dupri stepped up during this back-and-forth, but Lynch finished it exceptionally and reminded the blossoming talent why she’s the GOAT.

Trick Williams is seen talking to Adam Pearce backstage. Bayley and Lyra Valkyria then arrive looking for a tag team title shot with the former raging at the GM. “You’re an idiot and you’re bald.”

AJ Styles kicked out of the Uso Splash – great near fall that the crowd totally bought. Jey Uso also kicked out of the Styles Clash. The Usos won it with the 1D on Lee.

Analysis:

Bron Breakker got the better of CM Punk on the mic, for me. Not that is was really a contest in that manner, but Breakker has found his voice and is towering over anyone near him. To speak with that intensity but the words hit more than the volume is quite the feat.

Theory suits The Vision for me. He fits right in with the muscle-bound stable and trying to position themselves for the future. Ricky Saints is another good call if they want to make it five… but the chemsitry seems good right now.

The women’s triple-threat was OK. Vaquer’s reign as champion, extending past 99 days as of writing, has been lacking in top level feuds. A bit like when Gunther was world champion in some ways.

Gunther’s boos weren’t half as visceral this week. He’s riding that ‘tapped out like a b****’ line into the ground. His match with R-Truth was about five minutes where Gunther had 90 percent of it. As expected.

The Jey Uso arc is an interesting one. They did a similar confidence loss ahead of WrestleMania earlier this year. He won the gold on that occasion and he did again tonight.

With the traffic at the top of the card, Jey is better off in this spot for now. The Usos as tag champs is never a bad decision. Heading into WrestleMania season, which way will WWE take it? I would not be surprised to see two members of The Vision set their sights on them.

A solid episode of RAW as we head to the big one next week. Not spectacular, but decent.

The former Judgement Day star has only wrestled 24 WWE matches in 2025 with just nine of those taking place in the last six months.

This is well below the 76 matches Priest had in 2024 where he reigned as world heavyweight champion for for 191 days and even less than the 100 matches he had in 2023.

Speaking on the Prince St Pizza show, Priest explained that he has multiple injuries he’s avoiding getting surgery on.

“It’s unfortunate, and I don’t like to bring it up too much. I don’t take breaks. Since I’ve been in WWE, I’ve literally taken zero days off. I’ve never asked for time off because I was hurting,” Priest explained.

“This year, though, the company decided, ‘Let’s take it easy on him,’ because I’ve been going hard for a long time. I’ve torn my shoulder a couple of times within the last year and a half. My knees are banged up. My back is—oof. I need a lot of work done, but I choose not to do it. If I don’t have to, I won’t.

“Instead, I figure it out. We do rehab, and it’s a ‘keep me in the game, coach’ type of thing. That’s what we’ve been doing for a while now.

“But this year, I think the company said, ‘Okay, we’re happy with you, but we need to make sure you’re going to last here.’ So they’ve been forcing me to take it easy—put it that way.

“And that’s not the easiest thing to do when you just want to go out there and perform, because you love what you do. I’m still on TV regularly—just not in the ring as much as I’d like to be.

“That’s really the only downside. I love performing, man. I love getting physical. So it’s hard for me.”

Priest had a stellar run in the Judgement Day that has launched Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio into different stratospheres.

He won the Money in the Bank briefcase in London back in 2023 and Senor would cash in the following WrestleMania.

His title run was OK, but he hasn’t been able to reach the heights of his aforementioned team-mates, though he remains a popular performer in WWE.

The days of 250 shows a year are gone in WWE and at 43-years-old with plenty of miles on his tires, it’s certainly not a bad idea for WWE to take care of one of their elite big men.
