WWE are prepared to tear up their plans for WrestleMania 42 for a second time due to poor ticket sales.
However, according to Dave Meltzer, it’s not purely down to WWE’s product and their creative why ticket sales are low.
The long-time wrestling journalist claims it has more to do with pricing and decline in tourism.
WrestleTix recently reported that WrestleMania 42 had distributed 36,000 tickets for each night thus far, way below the expected 60,000 for each night they targeted.
WWE are said to have had an emergency meeting this week in light of the poor sales, but WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful reports WWE plan to stick with their pricing structure for now.
The cheapest seat is $266.80.
Meltzer has cited research that Las Vegas has reported a 9.2 percent tourism decrease from December 2024 to December 2025.
Meltzer speculates the uncomfortable political climate in the United States is causing international fans to think twice about traveling.
One anonymous source told Meltzer the plans they do have in motion shouldn’t be changed, as they’re good and should pique their fans’ interest but Triple H has prided himself on not being a predictable booker.
The only match that is said to be safe at this time is CM Punk versus Roman Reigns, which of course has already been announced.
That will serve as the night two main event, but Triple H and his staff are staying flexible in nearly every other area.
Thing is, WWE do not have many options to generate a big drawing matchup. Unless they can somehow get The Rock to be heavily featured and/or wrestle, where else will WWE be able to pull out a massive name?
