There has been a lot of speculation about Chris Jericho lately and his recent comments about TNA have gotten tongues wagging.
The 55-year-old has spent the last six years with AEW playing a pivotal part in their rise to the number two promotion in the world – ironically.
Jericho was their first world champion and has been a key cog in the ring and behind the scenes, but it would seem his influence has waned in both departments over the past year.

Several outlets have reported that the legendary star is out of contract at the end of 2025 and a return to WWE has been widely mooted with what one would assume includes a Hall of Fame induction down the line.
But in the past week, Jericho has been very complimentary about TNA on his podcast Talk is Jericho, despite admitted he has seldom watched other wrestling recently.
“You [Bully] said it was a five-star match, and it was, you know, it was a five-star match, and any wrestling fan that doesn’t understand why it’s a five-star match doesn’t really know a lot about wrestling because once again, we’ve been stressing this the whole time — it’s all about the emotion.
“That’s what wrestling has always been, and it always will be. Yeah. Absolutely. Five stars. No doubt about it. No doubt about it at all,” asserted Jericho.
Speaking on the same podcast, the Fozzy frontman suggested TNA’s recent podcast Bound for Glory made them look like the second biggest promotion in the world – quite the world while working for the literal number two promotion.
“That crowd looked huge. It looked huge. It was like a WWE-level crowd. The place was packed.”

Jericho then compared the Bound For Glory presentation to recent episodes of Dynamite that took place at the old ECW Arena, and he did not speak kindly to the promotion he is currently signed with. Jericho said:
“I was watching this and, not saying anything out of school here, but comparing it to watching Dynamite when they were at the ECW Arena, which looked like a Tony Condello taping, sorry, it did — TNA looked like the second biggest company in the world, and that was amazing. And the presentation was amazing.”

As far as Jericho’s future goes, Tony Khan has remained coy during interviews.
“Yeah, I love Chris Jericho. He’s a huge part of AEW. He’s been here since the beginning,” Khan said. “And you know, I think we’ll see what happens here in the coming months.
“But Chris is always a welcome, big part of AEW. We’d always want to have him here. So I absolutely am so grateful to Chris Jericho for everything he’s done.”
