Shane McMahon was at Madison Square Garden for WWE RAW last Monday, but you’d only know it if you’d read his tweet.

WWE did not show the former performer and executive despite getting the camera on a litany of other names in the crowd during the broadcast – including his sister, Stephanie.

Shane hasn’t been seen in WWE since his dad, Vince, was forced to walk away amid sexual misconduct allegations, including sex trafficking.

In fact, the last time Shane was on WWE TV he suffered a terrible knee injury early in a match with The Miz at WrestleMania 39.

According to a new report from Fightful Select, there was a reason WWE didn’t show Shane’s appearance and it’s a straightforward one.

The outlet reported that WWE sources said that those who were shown in the audience during the broadcast were promoting projects, and McMahon was just visiting. Fightful noted that it was stressed to them that he was welcomed to the show given how much he has done for the company.

Stephanie, was shown in the crowd alongside Elyse Dudzinski, the co-host of her podcast, “What’s Your Story?” Various athletes, including Cam Skattebo, running back for the New York Giants, were shown as well, in addition to comedian Andrew Schulz.

Shane falling of the cell at WrestleMania vs The Undertaker

Shane has always had the respect of the fans due to his willingness to give them everything inside of the ring. He has fallen off titantrons and Hell in a Cell for their entertainment – he’s essentially bulletproof.

There was always a hint of contention between Shane and his father Vince as the son had bright ideas for the company that his father didn’t green light.

Shane was the original brainchild behind the revival of ECW, but it was meant to retain it’;s violent edge and be a web-based show.

Once Vince was offered money by TV networks for it, the idea was out of Shane’s hands and thus, the product became a WWE lite version and was watered down tremendously, even before we truly got to the PG era.

Shane and Vince didn’t always see eye-to-eye

Shane also encouraged his father to buy UFC at a time where it could have been gotten for dozens of millions. About a decade later, it was sold for billions.

That’s not to say every Shane idea is a hit. He was the man behind RAW Underground in during the pandemic, seemingly an MMA sort of fight club. That didn’t last too long.

Shane always thought he’d inherit the company but was forced to depart it in 2009 as it became abundantly clear that wouldn’t be the case.

Now the business isn’t even in the family, but Triple H, his brother-in-law, does run creative under the TKO umbrella.
