Becky Lynch has found herself in trouble with a former talent after she criticised WWE putting them together in an interview.

While appearing on Something’s Burning with Bert Kreischer – alongside her husband Seth Rollins – Lynch had some choice words about WWE’s booking of her after making history at WrestleMania 35.

That was the event where women main evented WrestleMania for the very first time. Ronday Rousey, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch had a triple threat match for both world titles at the time, crowning Becky Two Belts in historic fashion.

Becky Lynch is one of the top names in WWE today period

Coming out of the event, the company decided to parlay her momentum into trying to make another star.

Now, that’s not the worst idea in the world on some levels, but that blossoming star has to be a true blue chip prospect for it to work. Lacey Evans had a mildly interesting character and had a strong-style in the ring, but fans were not particularly sold on her as a credible main event star yet.

“I start working with Lacey Evans right out the gate [after WrestleMania 35]. God bless her, but she wasn’t, you know… For me to go from the main event of WrestleMania to somebody who hadn’t done anything was terrible.”

It’s clear Lynch is taking exception with the booking rather than Evans herself. Vince McMahon was of course the chief decision maker at the time, now it’s Triple H.

Evans fired back on X after seeing Lynch’s comments do the rounds and it’s fair to say she took it personally.

Evans – real name Macey Estrella-Kadlec – said: “Don’t hate the player. Hate the game,” [wink face emoji]. The only person who *shoot cried more than you was the baby I had on my hip while taking all the opportunities [face melting emoki].

“If/when I come back…..you will STILL do nothing but gently shake my hand and say “how cute my little family is” backstage.” Evans has since suggested Lynch ‘cried’ about working together and ‘no-sold’ her finish.

Evans and Lynch ended up working with each other for a few months

Evans has gone on record with Chris Van Vilet stating WWE was ‘never her passion.’

She was put into a prime spot heading into the following WrestleMania. A storyline started where she was flirtatious with Ric Flair with the idea of getting ahead in her career before she got real life pregnant.

It was implied, though never stated, that Flair was the father but the storyline was dropped in the end and all of Evans WrestleMania plans fell by the wayside. She had been lined up to defeat Asuka for the Women’s title at Elimination Chamber and, presumably, face Charlotte at WrestleMania.

After one year of activity, she returned for around three months in 2022 but never in the same prominent spot. Eventually her WWE contract expired in August 2023 and the company did not renew it, thus she left the company.

She has since started an OnlyFans, opened a coffee shop and enjoys being a mother.

Evans has since left WWE, Lynch very much remains

Lynch, on the other hand, is arguably the greatest female wrestler of all-time. Yes, The Man jokes about it on-screen, but there is a genuine argument to it given her list of matches and accolades.

Like Evans, she also had a break from wrestling due to pregnancy. Since returning, Lynch has been involved in a whole host of angles but more recently this year, she has really helped other talent like Lyra Valkyria and Maxxine Dupri thrive.

Here’s to hoping there’s no real bad blood between the pair.
