With WrestleMania season looming large in just over a month, reports on WrestleMania 42 and the plans for the event are beginning to unfold.

Fresh off the men’s War Games at Survivor Series, the path appears to be forming for Roman Reigns after his post-match actions.

The Original Tribal Chief helped CM Punk to his feet after they were defeated by Brock Lesnar, Drew McIntyre, Logan Paul, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed – with the help of a masked figure.

Rhodes, Punk and Reigns at the end of War Games

However, he did not help Rhodes to his feet despite ample opportunity to do so. Once Rhodes popped up, Reigns gave him a frosty reception and said “just know, this is the last time we will ever team.”

Dave Meltzer explained on Wrestling Observer Radio that “the idea is we’re supposed to know WrestleMania, which is Cody and Roman and Punk and Bron Breakker are the championship matches.”

Reigns and Rhodes completing their trilogy at WrestleMania will be big business and might still be the biggest match WWE has at their disposal, outside of The Rock vs Reigns.

Breakker pinned Punk in the War Games match and there have been several reports that he is in line to become world champion sooner rather than later.

Who the hell is that?

Rollins was originally meant to face Reigns as the main event of night two, according to Meltzer. But the former Shield brothers cannot clash after Rollins went down with a serious shoulder injury in October.

That’s caused Triple H and co. to pivot with Punk holding the world title. One working idea would be that Breakker wins the belt and his first feud as champion would be a returning Rollins.

Who wins the Royal Rumble? It seems Reigns or Breakker is a two-horse race, but a win would do a lot more for the latter than the former.
